Why the ACOG Scope is Mostly Preferred

Aimpoint CompM4 Red Dot Red Dot SightThe Acog scope or the Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight is designed for AR platform. The ACOG scope has a fixed magnification ideal for long range engagements. The fixed magnification in the ACOG scope has interesting features that can be of great benefit to the user.

The first attribute includes an illuminated reticle that does not depend on power batteries. Instead the ACOG scope uses Tritium to provide illumination to the reticle. There are some ACOG scopes that contain dual illumination. Besides the tritium in use, illumination for the reticle is furthermore offered by fiber optics placed on the ACOG scope.

The ACOG scope has another great option which also makes it an efficient choice. That feature is the bullet drop compensator; this feature allows you to engage targets at varying distances. It gives aiming points at certain distances. Finally, it has red dot sight that offers advantage in partial range engagements.
